Glenlola Collegiate School has been involved with this scheme since 2002. We have successfully applied to the Northern Ireland Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment for accreditation to assess our pupils in Information Technology at the end of KS3 and to present them with a certificate of IT Competence.
The scheme supports the teaching of IT as a cross-curricular theme and assessment is given for each of the four strands of IT competence – Communication, Information Handling, Modelling and Measurement and Control.
The results this year were outstanding with 99.39% of our girls achieving Level 7 (compared to 39.18% of girls in Northern Ireland). See below:
